Unglued Book & Devotional Prize Pack Giveaway

We have ALL been there, we have all come “unglued” at one point or another. {Sometimes daily} Mothering is a difficult job, throw in homeschooling and its a whole new ball game…right? In reality, this homeschooling journey is simply “parenting”.

However, mothering is not at all easy and it takes a great deal of patience, sacrifice and more patience.

I struggle to keep my emotions in check, my flesh would have me fly off the handle, say things I will regret or exemplify behavior that is negative and plain ole ugly.

I have to remind myself daily that more is caught than taught.

Allowing myself some quiet time to pray, read a devotional and or journal can make a world of difference in the way I face challenges throughout my day.

Lysa Terkeurst’s NEW book Unglued and the accompanying devotional “60 Days of Imperfect Progress” have been my daily dose of spiritually filling in the past few weeks.

Unglued is a gentle reminder of the grace we receive and must allow ourselves, as well as the grace we must give to others. It will encourage you to be the best example you can be for your family and friends.

Unglued will give you the confidence to lovingly deal with some of the most frustrating, awkward or disappointing situations.

I’m on day 18 of the Unglued Devotional – probably one of my favorite days so far…

Today’s study is – “I Quit” 2 Corinthians 7:9-10

2 Cor 7:9 Now I’m glad—not because you were sad but because you were made sad enough to change your hearts and lives. You felt godly sadness so that no one was harmed by us in any way. 10 Godly sadness produces a changed heart and life that leads to salvation and leaves no regrets, but sorrow under the influence of the world produces death.

Thought for the day ” Jesus didn’t die so we’d be sorry. He died and then was resurrected so we’d be changed!” – Steven Furtick

Lysa then writes in depth about this days topic of study.

  23. Ashleigh Holmquist says

I would love this giveaway. Not only is my birthday January 29th, but also I am on a quest to fill my brain with so much positive, and God worthy thoughts, there is no such word as “unglued” in my dictionary any longer.

I struggle with becoming “unglued” daily. I’m blunt, lack a filter, and have an EXTREMELY short fuse. Thankfully, with God’s grace, I have improved on those flaws immensely, but I feel Lysa’s book is the one thing I need to help continually guide me on this path to becoming whole in Him again.

    Thank you,
    Ashleigh (:

I would love to win this prize package. For 5 long years I have suffered from what the doctors initially called “a good old fashioned nervous break down”. After 3 in a little less than 2 years, they labeled me with MDD, anxiety/panic disorder, chronic migraines, PTSD, and that is just the beginning. However, I have claimed 2013, as a year of change. I believe God can and will deliver me of these ailments to the degree He wants. I have just promised God I would fill my mind with positives and His word. Thank you and may God richly bless your ministry.

I would be blessed to win this because next week I will be a new teacher. new fears, new emotions, new heartaches, and new emotions. Emotions to adhere to the heart of a parentless child, or to the one that is just “unlovable”. I never wanted to be a teacher, until God called me to it. I was the child in the classroom that never had a father or mother by my side. Never did I have someone telling me to not give up, except my emotion-controlled teachers. I want to be that teacher, to serve and give back and the book would be a wonderful tool.I have been financially independent since adolescence, enduring multiple jobs and loans to reach my goal of becoming a teacher. As of today, I have also learned that financial stresses and circumstances will not stop my passion for the greater good in education. I want to be a teacher not only make a different in a child’s life but to show children, like I was shown, that regardless of dark moments light can be seen. I hope with this book I can have the emotions to display the same!

  36. C Rogers says

I have 3 wonderful kids, really I do. But, for about 9 years now I’ve been in a hamster wheel cycle of unglued yelling and then asking forgiveness from my kids. I come unglued on a daily basis no matter how much I tell myself to breath and relax before I get home from work. It’s crazy and I need God’s help in a huge way. If you could pray for me, I’d appreciate it too. It’s been very slow progress.

  37. Bretta says

Sounds great! Love Lysa’s writing and would love to have this set.

  38. says

Love Lysa’s books, they are so helpful and encouraging to me! Just started reading “Am I messing up my kids”, wonderful so far! Thanks
