Holiday Décor..How would you like more?

This week I made a quick trip to our local Home Depot (just 5 minutes down the road) to shop for some new holiday décor. I wanted to spruce up our front door, buy some LED lights and see what else we could find to add some holiday cheer to the home.

 

 

 

 

As we walked into The Home Depot, the adorable table top trees caught the eyes of my little one. They had miniature trees, topiary holiday trees and of course a large array of full sized {wonderful smelling} Christmas trees.

I was pleasantly surprised to find an entire line of Martha Stewart Living Holiday home décor!

Our front door / porch area was in desperate need of some sprucing, we have been using the same Christmas wreath for the past 7 years and this year it is retiring. Creating a warm welcome starts at the front door, a beautiful wreath can be quick, creative and easy on the budget. With guests dropping by for holiday visits, I want our entry way looking its best!

Home Depot had a wide variety of wreaths from their own collection and the Martha Stewart Living collection.  Along with a new wreath for our front door, I was able to find indoor and outdoor mats in the same Martha Stewart line of décor.

What’s an entry way without the bright red colors of a Christmas Poinsettia? I’m not sure if they had just put out the poinsettias but they were absolutely gorgeous and the price points were very affordable in comparison to other stores carrying the same size plants or smaller.

With these three items, my front door makeover was complete! I also picked up a new set of LED lights for the bushes in our front yard, wreath hooks, Classic Christmas Claymation Window clings for the boys  and a few items from the Glade Christmas collection.  The smells of Christmas are every bit as important as the sights and sounds, I found the most aromatic pine and cinnamon candles.

 

We still have to add the garland around the door frame but here is our front door that went from drab to fab in 5 minutes!

Why is food such a crutch for so many women? Brainetics – Math & Memory System Review

We have been given the opportunity to try out Brainteitcs as a family, it has been a fun time for us to spend together…learning!! Brainetics is a fun supplement to improve math and memory skills. It teaches helpful math shortcuts that allow you to do complex math problems in your head. Hubby and I really enjoyed how the lessons make you think, concentrate and pay attention in order to grasp each concept.

 

It was difficult for our 8 year old to keep up but our 10 yr old loved every step and could not wait to share some of his new “Math Tricks” with his friends.

It does NOT teach basic math skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, it simply enables those with a basic understanding of math to do complex addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems in their heads.

Brainetics is for the good math student that has grasped basic math facts (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division) who wants to go beyond average math or might be bored with math. If your child {or family} enjoys math and figuring out large math problems quickly, this could be a wonderful resource for you. It has fun number activities and the DVD’s are very entertaining.

The lessons teach formulas that are mostly ability and memorization based. They may not teach math that you will use on a daily basis, but it is FUN math trivia that is taught and grasped. The mental exercises help train the brain to process information more quickly as well as increase memorization.This program will definitely help your child feel confident in his math skills. I have heard this type of math labeled as “Science Math”, I think this is a perfect description of the Brainetics concept.
