2014 Top Blogueras Retreat & LATISM Conference

The past two weeks have been a bit of a blur, I worked my first “political” social media campaign for the Louisiana election. Can I just say, I’m glad it’s over? It was fun, exciting and exhausting!

In the past two weeks….

I  had a biopsy on a misbehaving breast, received surprising results, and had an abnormal pap. Seriously, all in one week! I will have surgery to remove a benign lump next week. My mother starts to get well and my body decides to fall apart. Go figure.

I learned that I was chosen as a Top Bloguera {top Latinas in social media} by LATISM {Latino’s in Tech Innovation and Social Media} for the third year! In 2012 the Top Blogueras went to the White House to discuss issues affecting the family and education. In 2013 we visited the United Nations to discuss social good efforts. This year the top 100 Latinas in Social Media will be flying to Anaheim, California for the Top Blogueras retreat which will be just as exciting; I can’t spill the beans on what we will be doing just yet!

“This group of women are passionate about societal issues and do not overlook the needs of those around them. Their passions are the fuel that society needs to promote change. LATISM is proud to have the Top Blogueras on our team to address needs in: education, health, technology, business and civic engagement.” – LATISM

Enorme Gracias to one of the smartest ladies I know, Ana Roca-Castro, Founder of the LATISM community, for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful gathering of Top Latina women, for growing the largest and most influential community of Latinos in tech and social media and for the good that she does to make this world a better place for so many! She is the founder and creator of this amazing place too —> PreK12 Plaza. To say that I am grateful would be an understatement; I’m honored and thankful for the opportunity to attend this retreat for the third time with some of the smartest, hardest working, innovative women on the web.

As if that were not enough awesomeness, I was also invited to attend the  LATISM Conference, taking place after the Top Blogueras Retreat, on behalf of Johnson and Johnson as an official JNJ Social Correspondent. I will be reporting and sharing live across all social media all weekend! Johnson Johnson is hosting a breakfast panel, “Raising Caring Children: How to Make Social Good a Family Value,” with partner GirlUp. Please follow @JNJCares and ‪#‎LATISM14‬ for live tweets from the LATISM Conference starting Friday morning!

Never would I have imagined 10 years ago that my “hobby” would grow into something beyond a business. I’m living my dream. Raising a family, while growing a business that is not just a monetary blessing but one that is incredibly rewarding and satisfying. I am doing what I love…. supporting moms around the globe through community building and social good efforts.

I’m not deserving, but I am thankful.

I am THANKFUL for work I love, great opportunities, family that supports me, four boys that I get to homeschool, a husband that gets my crazy, an online community that feels like family, great friends to love, that love me back and a partridge in a pear tree. Sorry, I had to. #Thankful

Now, if you are anywhere near Anaheim, you do not want to miss the LATISM conference, grab your tickets to be inspired, challenged and hugged! Us Latinos are huggers! —> http://conference.latism.org/
